Cabin In The Woods is beyond impressive.

Cabin In The Woods is the new film out today, produced and co-written by Joss Whedon, known mainly for his work on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly.

He's basically the ultimate nerd director/writer/producer. He's even the director and writer of The Avengers, the big superhero movie of the year, coming out next month.

Anyway, the movie starts out like your typical teen slasher horror flick, as most horror movies over the last couple decades have seemed to be. But almost minute by minute, this film just twists and turns and blows the genre away. I kind of envision him saying "Hi guys, I'm going to take your silly, overdone movies, make fun of them, then do it all a thousand times better."

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone that may be interested in seeing it, but I highly recommend the film to anyone that loves a good scare, a movie that will keep you thinking and screaming all at once, and even those that like a good laugh or two. It really is a nearly flawless movie that will keep you guessing and plotting from beginning to end!
